When Homer is kicked out of Moe's Tavern he goes to a bar called The Little Black Box. When there he impersonates a pilot to get a beer, then an unnamed representative comes in and asks for someone to fly to the Windy City. He takes Homer onto the plane where he meets his co-pilot Allen. He gets into the cockpit and retracts the landing gear by accident, severely damaging the plane's fuselage. In order to keep quiet about the incident, the CEO of Crazy Clowns offers Homer and his family a free trip to any U.S. State except Alaska and Hawaii.
