On Tuesday, when asked by reporters how he and his wife, Melania Trump, voted, the former president demurred. “We did a great job,” he said, in an apparent reference to appointing the Supreme Court justices who overturned Roe v. Wade. “And then we brought it back to the states, as you know. I believe in exceptions as well.”

The Florida measure would protect abortion access through fetal viability, or about halfway through a typical pregnancy, effectively invalidating the current six-week ban. Asked for a second time, Trump shot back: “Just stop talking about that!”
